# Terms of Use

The rules for using Qore Launcher: what you may do with it, what you're responsible for, and what we are.

Last updated November 4, 2026

In short

- The launcher is free, for your own use. It's ours and closed source: don't resell it or reverse engineer it beyond what the law allows.
- You need your own Minecraft: Java Edition. Mojang's EULA and Usage Guidelines apply to the game. We're not Mojang or Microsoft.
- Mods and other content come from Modrinth and are made by others, under their own licences. We don't host or review them.
- Never use it to get around sign-in or game ownership. Offline profiles are for developer mode, on your own local test servers.
- It comes as it is, and your rights as a consumer stay intact. French law applies.

## 01 Accepting these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and **Qore Games**, 9 rue des colonnes, Paris, France ("Qore", "we", "us"), about the Qore Launcher desktop app ("the launcher").

By installing or using the launcher, you accept these terms. If you don't accept them, don't install or use it. If you're a minor, ask a parent or guardian to read them with you and agree to them.

What the launcher does with data is explained in the [**Privacy Policy**](https://qore.group/launcher/privacy).

## 02 Your licence

The launcher is free. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install it on computers you own or control, and to use it.

The launcher is closed source, and we keep every right in it: its code, its design, its name and its logos. Except where the law expressly allows it, you may not:

- copy or modify it, beyond what installing and using it requires;
- sell, rent, lend or sublicense it;
- reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except as far as the law allows (for example, to make it work with other software);
- remove or change its notices, or present it as your own.

Third-party components included in the launcher keep their own licences.

## 03 Minecraft

To play, you need your own copy of **Minecraft: Java Edition**, on a Microsoft account. The launcher downloads the game from Mojang's servers: it doesn't sell, include or give you the game.

The [Minecraft End User License Agreement](https://www.minecraft.net/eula) and the [Minecraft Usage Guidelines](https://www.minecraft.net/usage-guidelines) apply to the game and to how you play it.

Qore Launcher is made by Qore Games, an independent studio. NOT AN OFFICIAL MINECRAFT PRODUCT.

## 04 Your account

- You sign in with your own Microsoft account, on Microsoft's own page. Microsoft's terms apply to that account, and the launcher never sees your password.
- Only sign in with accounts that are yours. You're responsible for your accounts and for the computers you use the launcher on.
- You can remove an account from the launcher at any time; its sign-in is deleted from your computer with it.
- There is no Qore account in this version.

## 05 Third-party content and services

### Content made by others

The mods, modpacks, resource packs, shaders and data packs you find in the launcher are made by other people and published under their own licences, and Modrinth serves them. We don't host, review, endorse or guarantee them, and we're not responsible for what they do. Read a project's page and licence before you install it, and report problems to its creator or to Modrinth. The same goes for the plugins and server software you add in developer mode.

### Services run by others

The launcher relies on services we don't run (Microsoft, Mojang, Modrinth, Eclipse Adoptium, Fabric, Quilt, PaperMC, GitHub, Discord) and lets you join servers run by others. Their own terms and rules apply to you there, and we can't promise they'll always be available.

## 06 Acceptable use

Use the launcher lawfully and fairly. In particular, don't:

- use it to get around sign-in, game ownership checks, or any other protection of Minecraft, Microsoft or the services it connects to;
- play with offline profiles, except as section 7 allows;
- use it to overload, scrape or misuse the services it connects to (Modrinth, Mojang, Microsoft and the others), or to break their terms;
- use it to spread malware or anything harmful, or to get into computers, accounts or servers that aren't yours;
- modify it to do any of the above.

## 07 Developer mode and AI agents

Developer mode is for people who make Minecraft servers. It's off by default; when you turn it on, the launcher can create and run local servers and test clients, and set up tools such as Foreman, downloaded from PaperMC, Mojang, Fabric, Modrinth and GitHub.

### Offline profiles

Offline profiles exist only in developer mode, only while you're signed in with an account that owns Minecraft: Java Edition, and only to test on your own local servers. Don't use them for anything else.

### AI agents

The Dev MCP lets an AI agent you choose work with your dev servers and test clients. It only listens on your own computer (127.0.0.1) and asks for a token: keep that token to yourself. You're responsible for the agents you connect and for what they do; they can read server consoles, logs and files and drive test clients. Their providers' own terms and policies apply to them.

Your servers, plugins and worlds are yours, and so is the responsibility for them and for respecting the licences of the software you run.

## 08 Updates and changes

We may release new versions of the launcher, and add, change or remove features.

We may also update these terms. The new version goes on this page with a new date at the top, and when a change matters to you, we announce it reasonably ahead of time. If you keep using the launcher once it applies, you accept it; if you don't, stop using the launcher.

## 09 Disclaimers and liability

The launcher is free and provided as it is. As far as French law allows, we don't promise that it will work without interruption or errors, or that it suits a particular purpose. Keep backups of the worlds and files that matter to you.

As far as French law allows, we're not liable for indirect damage, nor for damage caused by content, services or servers run by others, or by the agents you connect.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability where the law doesn't allow it, such as for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or death and personal injury.

If you're a consumer, you keep every right consumer law gives you, including the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content. These terms don't take any of them away.

## 10 Termination

- You can stop at any time: uninstall the launcher, and delete its data folder if you want to remove what it kept.
- If you break these terms, we may end your licence. You must then stop using the launcher and delete it.
- We may stop offering the launcher.

What by its nature should last after the end (the limits of your licence, the disclaimers and limits of liability, the governing law) keeps applying.

## 11 Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law. If something goes wrong, write to us first: most problems are solved that way.

Disputes go to the courts of Paris, France. If you're a consumer living in the European Union, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country's law, and you can bring a claim before the courts where you live.

If part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
